Junckers, ideal with underfloor heating

The question that the Junckers technical dept is most often asked is "Can Junckers Flooring be used with underfloor heating?". The answer is "Yes, not a problem".

Underfloor heating is becoming increasingly popular, especially as modern buildings are so well insulated - meaning that the underfloor heating can run at lower temperatures. For many years we have been fitting Junckers floors in sports halls, commercial and residential buildings in conjunction with the leading manufacturers of underfloor heating.

Our flooring can be fitted over hot water and electrical heating systems, which are commonly installed in a screed, polystyrene base or within a batteded undercarriage. We produce a series of technical information sheets on the use of Junckers flooring with underfloor heating systems, along with a brochure entitled "Junckers - Ideal with underfloor heating.

Junckers sets new standards in sports floors

Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast is the UK's first installation of Junckers new UnoBAT 62+ sports floor system.

Working with project architects McVeigh and Brown, sports medicine experts at Musgrave Park chose Junckers' system for their new state of the art sports medicine physiotherapy facility. The 1100 sq m floor is used both for organised games and as a predictibly responsive surface on which physiotherapists can work woth their patients.

Ultra Matt: The new factory finish

New from Junckers is Ultra Matt, a hardwearing lacquer which recreates the softly reflective natural look of a traditional oiled floor - but with the major benefit of needing less specialised maintenance.

Ideal for domestic applications, Junckers' new Ultra Matt finish is available as a factory seal on many of its floors including 14mm, 22mm and 20.5mm wide boards.

New Top Oil: A fast drying revolution in floor maintenance

Junckers is launching Top Oil, a revolutionary new maintenance product cutting drying time on oiled wooden floors down from around 16 hours to just one hour or less. Now, oiled floors can be specified even in locations where maintenance is time sensitive.

When Junckers floors were chosen for Heathrow terminal 3's busy departure lounge, and oiled finish was selected for its durability and the fact that it can be spot maintained in specific areas of wear. However, BAA can only maintain floors between 11pm and 4am so, in response to this problem, Junckers Technical Depts in England and Denmark collaborated to develop fast drying top oil.

The wood awards 2004

Junckers went for gold at the presigious wood awards held in the Carpenters hall in London on Octover 19th.

Many of the projects entered by architects (including Fopp Records, below) had Junckers floors. 3 were then shortlisted in the "commercial and public access category": Maggies Center (see below), Inn The Park restaurant, and Norwich Cathedral's inspiring new visitors centre with Junckers Wideboard Oak flooring throughout its spacious refectory.

Designed by Michael Hopkins and partners, the Norwich Cathedral project went on to win not only the category, but also the overall the 2004 Gold Award.

Floor to ceiling Junckers at Fopp Records

Fopp is a fast growing High Street retailer selling music, film and books out of highly original concept stores.

The new Manchester store is the 1st to incoroporate a cafe - a key feature of which is Junckers solid 14mm oiled Sylvaket Harmony used both for the floors AND AS DECORATIVE CLADDING!!!

This unique "wraparound" look gives the cafe a feeling of warmth and luxury designed by Andrew Cardwell of Chris Stewart Architects in Glasgow.

Award Winning Maggies Centre, Dundee

Designed by the world renowned architect Frank Gehry, Maggies Centre has been named building of the year by the Royal Fine Art Commision.

Providing care for cancer sufferers and their families, this building is as remarkable inside as out. Junckers Floors are integral to the scheme, which emphasises natural materials throughout.
